Obama’s NCAA Tournament Picks

Posted on 19 March 2010 by Wanna Be Sports Guy

Last year President Barack Obama was harshly critiqued for making his picks for the March Madness Tournament. Well folks, he’s done it again this year and this time, Obama is looking to make it two in a row. Last year, Obama predicted that UNC would be the last one standing. This year, Obama picked Kansas University to be the last one standing.

Can Kansas reach the promise land? Well they’ll have to get through grueling MidWest bracket that has Ohio State, Michigan State, Georgetown and Maryland. If Kansas wants to remain the top basketball program in the nation, they’ll have to be disciplined and ready for war. I hope President Obama knows what he’s getting into because either Michigan State or Maryland will be waiting for Kansas in the second round of action.

President Obama picked Kansas to win it all because Kansas has one of the best coaches in the nation, Bill Self. Self already has a championship under his belt and knows how to get his team focused. Kansas also has one of the top players in the country, Sherron Collins. This year Sherron Collins averaged 15 points and four assists each game. Kansas’ interior game is dominated by Cole Aldrich, Tyshawn Taylor and Xavier Henry. Kansas’ dominant interior might be one of the main reasons Kansas is Obama’s pick for the championship. And as for our president, Obama picked the easiest choice without a Cinderella ending, and I’m, pretty sure that’s OK with fans in Kansas.
