Dodgers vs Reds: the most historic duel

On July 22, 1911, the Brooklyn Dodgers along with the Cincinatti Reds tied a National League record for the fewest official at-bats in a 9-inning game with 48. Each team had 24 at-bats.
The highlight of the game was an exciting pitching duel between Nap Rucker of the Brooklyn Dodgers and Frank Smith of the Cincinatti Reds. Nap Rucker pitched a 1 hitter. The only Cincinatti hit was a single by Bob Bescher with 2 out in the 9th inning. Frank Smith allowed the Dodgers only 2 hits; a single by Jake Daubert in the fourth inning and a single by Eddie Zimmerman in the eighth inning. The Dodgers’ winning run scored in the 7th inning on 2 errors and in infield out.
