Posted on 07 July 2010 by Wanna Be Sports Guy
Donald and Bruce Curry were the first pair of brothers who hold world boxing titles at the same time. Donald “The Lone Star Cobra” Curry dominated the welterweight division in the 1980s. He captured all three major belts. One of his most memorable fights was a knockout against fellow champion Milton McCrory in 1985.
Bruce Curry was most known for his powerful left hook. One of his biggest victories was the 1983 victory over Leroy Haley that earned him the WBC light welterweight title. Bruce defended his welterweight title two times. He was a two-time Texas Golden Gloves Champion and runner-up to Sugar Ray Leonard at the 1976 U.S. Olympic Boxing Trials
